yellow-breasted chat returns
as the mulberries ripen on my Morus alba tree, I applaud the reappearance of the yellow-breasted chat to my backyard. And I'm giddy about seeing the pair of orioles today, feeding midday on the M. rubra in corner of yard.

Amazing spring morning!
I ate my late breakfast of coffee, bacon and biscuits on the back patio to the sounds of mourning dove, mockingbirds, blue jays, cardinals.
Visually I I've seen the cardinals and white-wing dove flying overhead; the remainder seem to be keeping their distance from the band of merry squirrels guarding the feeding station against my Morus tree.
The excitement of the moment sent me scrambling for my binoc's to verify what looked like a possible vermillion flycatcher through the trees-- only to clearly see a ruddy specimen of Quercus leaf trapped upright in a perched position.
Ah the adventures of this backyard.
I hope that I do not have to say goodbye to it, but that is in the hands of God.
For now, I enjoy the warm sun in the cool remnants of this March morning, watching the young buck squirrel who insists on sitting on the food he is eating.

An amazing sunset today as I lay on a blanket in my back yard, having a very emotional conversation with my current spouse. As the wife was telling me she was leaving me, this incredible flock of white-wing dove flew right through my yard and set up roost before my eyes. The timing was impressive, God; thank you. Then when I found out that she and this other married guy had been xxxxxxxxx, a screech owl flew right over me, then right up in the tallow tree in full view... God your timing is amazing.
Thank you for sending your birds when I needed to sense your Presence most.
I love you.
